On May 1, 1894, the bank building was purchased by M.V.B. Evans, who established a private bank under the name
of "The Beaman Bank". On April 1, 1908, the bank was organized under a state charter as the Farmers Savings
Bank and has remained open ever since, even during the depression in the 1930's. That is the reason the bank is known
as the "Oldest Bank in Grundy County". We are a locally-owned bank. We are owned by our holding company,
Beaman Bancshares, Inc., which is made up of local people. Our present slogan that has been used for many years is
"Safety, Security and Service since 1894". Over the years the bank has kept growing with an addition being
added to the present office in Beaman, plus the addition of the offices in Albion, Green Mountain and Marshalltown.
We believe in the small town, main street spirit. We believe the customer is our friend as well as our neighbor. Our
motto is friendly customer service, and we hope we are providing this for you.
